Jane was born in February 1823 in Withnell and her baptism took place on February 16th, 1823 in Brindle.¹

Birth Notes

Jane's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Jane (Jenny) Fish. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Peggy Duerden. She had two brothers named Robert and Thomas. She was the youngest of the three children.
