Ralph was born in June 1867 in Blackburn.¹

Birth Notes

Ralph's father was John Mather and his mother was Margaret Salisbury. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Jane Entwistle. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Albert, Robert, Harry, Mary, Margaret and Rosella. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 84 in March 1952 in Amounderness.²
