Nathaniel was born in October 1876 in Bolton and his baptism took place on December 13th, 1876 at Bolton Holy Trinity.¹²

Birth Notes

Nathaniel's father was James Mather and his mother was Maria Hulme. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Susanna (Susan) Whalley. He had a brother and five sisters, named Joseph, Margaret, Martha, Mary, Polly and Emma. He had an adopted brother named Walter. He died at the age of 1 in January 1878 in Great Lever. He was buried on January 7th, 1878 at St. Michael (Gt. Lever).¹
