Matthias Mather

Matthias was born in 1823 in Wigan and his baptism took place on March 7th, 1824 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Matthias' father was Samuel Mather and his mother was Betsey Green. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Mather and Mary Priestley. He had five brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Thomas, Samuel, William, Charles and Mary. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 44 on October 7th, 1867 in Salford.²

- 23 Dec 1843, Matthias Mather, an Iron Moulder of Canon Street son of Samuel an Iron Moulder married Sarah Foulds of Bond Street at Liverpool, St Nicholas.
  
  In 1851, Matthias, aged 27 was married to Sarah and living at Barton upon Irwell.
  
  Matthias of Salford, Iron Moulder, died 7 Oct 1867. His brother Samuel and son Samuel were executors.
