Martha was born in 1864 in Little Hulton.¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Hannah (Betsy) Kay. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Martha Tyldesley. She had six brothers and six sisters, named William, Samuel, Thomas, Thomas, Herbert, Ernest, Amelia, Annie, Jesse, Matilda, Lizzie and Lawraett. She was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children. She died as an infant at the age of 1 in 1865 in Little Hulton.¹
