Margaret's father was Abraham Mather and her mother was Alice Gerrard. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Matthew, John, Peggy, Betty and Betty.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 2 in May 1768 in WestLeigh.  She was buried on May 10th, 1768 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹
