Luke Mather

Luke was born in 1831 in Middleton and his baptism took place on September 19th, 1830 at St. Leonard (Middleton).¹

Luke's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Stewart. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Alice Collinge. He had five brothers and a sister, named James, John, Richard, William, Moses and Ann. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 69 in January 1900 in Prestwich. His burial was on January 8th, 1900 in Manchester.²³
