Kitty was born in September 1824 in Edgworth. Kitty's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Barber.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Thornley. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Thomas and Kitty.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at 3 months old in December 1824 in Edgworth.  Her burial was on December 25th, 1824 at St. Anne (Turton).1 1
