Kitty's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Barber.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Thornley. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Thomas and Kitty.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at 3 months old in December 1824 in Edgworth.  She was buried on December 25th, 1824 at St. Anne (Turton).^1 1
