John Mather

John's father was James Mather and his mother was Margaret Stockton (Slater).  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Margaret Dawson. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Joseph, James, Ann and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at 2 months old in November 1837 in Little Bolton.  He was buried on November 21st, 1837 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²
