Isaac was born about 1786 in Little Bolton. Isaac's father was John Mather and his mother was Jane (Jennet) Partington.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Mary Meadowcroft. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Isaac, Lettice, Catherine, Lettice and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died in November 1787 in Little Bolton.  He was buried on November 5th, 1787 in Little Bolton.1 2
