It is assumed (as no baptism) that Henry's parents were Robert and Mary Mather from York Street, Heywood, Bury (both 75 in 1841). James Mather (45) may be the oldest son.
28 Oct 1839, Henry a Whister, son of Robert Mather a weaver married Mary Hall, daughter of John Hall, a Stone Mason. James Mather was witness.
In 1841 Henry and Mary (both 20) were at Baldingstone, Walmersley, Bury with daughter Esther (10 mo) and Mary's parents John and Alice Hall (both 45).
Some disaster must have happened to Henry and Mary. In 1851 and 1861, their daughter Esther was with her grandparents.
