Harriet's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Betsy (Betty) Hall.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Brabin. She had a brother and a sister, named John and Mary. She had an adopted sister named Fanny. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, John, Peter and Sarah.  She died at the age of 1 in January 1847 in Breightmet.  She was buried on January 24th, 1847 at St. Peter's (Bolton).^2 3
