Hannah was born in 1873 in Edgworth.1  Hannah's father was Charles Mather and her mother was Betty Crompton.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Mather and Ann Brambley. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Henry, John, Joseph, Charles, Rachel and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.
