Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in 1773 in Longworth and her baptism took place on July 11th, 1773 in Rivington.¹

Ellen's father was James Mather and her mother was Esther Mason.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Mather and Ann Anderton. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Ralph, James, Jonathan, Ann, Sally and Betty.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 16 in January 1789 in Heath Charnock.  She was buried on January 6th, 1789 in Rivington.¹
