Ann was born in 1764 in Heath Charnock and her baptism took place on October 21st, 1764 in Rivington.¹

Birth Notes

Ann's father was James Mather and her mother was Esther Mason. Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Mather and Ann Anderton. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Ralph, James, Jonathan, Sally, Betty and Ellen. She was the second oldest of the eight children.
