Annie's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Ellen Wood.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Alice Brownlow. She had four brothers and a sister, named Alfred, Frank, Ernest, Herbert and Emma.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at 2 months old on May 24th, 1874 in Radcliffe.  She was buried on May 27th, 1874 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).³
