Ann was born in 1806 in Manchester and her baptism took place on January 26th, 1806 at Manchester Cathedral.1  Ann's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Alice Ashton. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, John, William, Elizabeth, Ellen, Alice, Alice and Alice.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 35 in July 1841.  She was buried in July 1841.2
