Alice's father was Harold Mather and her mother was Margaret Ada Cooper. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Alice Cooper. She had three sisters named Constance, Hilda and Margaret. She was the third oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 62 in 1958.
