Alice was born on December 13th, 1803 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on December 18th, 1803 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).¹

Alice's father was John Mather and her mother was Alice Mather. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Peter, Richard, Samuel, Martha and Mary. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 28 on December 11th, 1832 in Radcliffe. Her burial was in December 1832 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).²
