Alice's father was John Mather and her mother was Alice Mather.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Peter, Richard, Samuel, Martha and Mary.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 28 on December 11th, 1832 in Radcliffe.  She was buried in December 1832 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).²
