Elizabeth was born in 1863 in Farnworth.1  Elizabeth's father was John Lomax and her mother was Margaret Bradley. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Alfred, John, Louisa, Martha, Mary and Eva.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
