Robert was born in May 1893 in Bolton.1  Robert's father was Joseph Lee and his mother was Mary Ellen Mather.  His maternal grandparents were Robert Mather (Cunliffe) and Alice Heaton. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Albert, Emma and Emily.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at 7 months old in December 1893 in Bolton.  He was buried on December 25th, 1893 at the Heaton Cemetery.2 2
