Emily was born in July 1897 in Bolton.1  Emily's father was Joseph Lee and her mother was Mary Ellen Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Mather (Cunliffe) and Alice Heaton. She had three brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Robert, Albert and Emma.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 1 in December 1898 in Bolton.  She was buried on December 8th, 1898 at the Heaton Cemetery.2
