Mina was born in 1824 in Harthill and her baptism took place on November 11th, 1824 at All Saints, Harthill.1  Mina's father was William Lea and her mother was Jane Stubbs. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Thomas, Charles, Sarah, Frances, Emma, Sarah, Anne and Jane.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-brother named William.
