Hannah was born in 1777 in Turton and her baptism took place on May 3rd, 1777 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Hannah's father was John Knowles and her mother was Hannah (Anna) Mather. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Henry, Benjamin, John, Jennet, Alice, Peggy, Christian, Mally and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 24 in January 1801.  She was buried on January 23rd, 1801 at St. Anne (Turton).
