Fred Knowles 
Fred was born in 1890 in Bolton.1 Fred's father was James Knowles and his mother was Jane Mather. His maternal grandparents were William Mather and Esther Dewhurst. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, James, Herbert, Esther, Sarah and Ellen. He was the youngest of the seven children.-
