Douglas' father was Ernest Jones and his mother was Eliza Sharp. His paternal grandparents were Peter Jones and Elizabeth Jellicoe. He had a sister named Patricia. He was the younger of the two known children. He died at the age of 79 on July 20th, 2011 in Wales.¹
