Squire was born in 1793 in Entwistle and his baptism took place on March 31st, 1793 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Squire's father was Christopher Isherwood and his mother was Rachel Lomax. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Christopher, James, Abel, Rachel, Betty, Alice and Kitty.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
