Alice was born in 1785 in Entwistle and her baptism took place on June 19th, 1785 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Alice's father was Christopher Isherwood and her mother was Rachel Lomax. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Christopher, James, Squire, Abel, Rachel, Betty and Kitty.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.
