Betty was born in 1819 in Edgworth and her baptism took place on April 25th, 1819 in Bridge Street Chapel (Methodist).¹

Birth Notes

Betty's father was Benjamin (Bennett) Isherwood and her mother was Esther Mather. Her paternal grandparents were James Isherwood and Margaret (Peggy) Fairbrother; her maternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Alice Fielding. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Peter, Ann, James, Margaret, Esther, Mary and Jane. She had an adopted sister named Deborah.
