Alice was born in 1836 in Tottington and her baptism took place there on November 6th, 1836.¹²

Birth Notes

Alice's father was William Howarth and her mother was Jane Booth. Her maternal grandparents were Richard Booth and Catherine Whalley. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, William, Mary, Hannah, Elizabeth and Jane. She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
