Robert was born on January 9th, 1880 in Toxteth Park.¹ Robert's father was Samuel Beddow Hopley and his mother was Agnes Ann Lloyd. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Ann Beddows. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, Samuel, William, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 80 on February 28th, 1960 in Liverpool.¹
