Mary was born on August 12th, 1870. Mary's father was Samuel Beddow Hopley and her mother was Agnes Ann Lloyd. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Ann Beddows. She had four brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, Samuel, William, Robert and Elizabeth. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 69 on October 23rd, 1939 in Liverpool.¹
