Henry Holt

Henry was born in October 1832 in Breightmet and his baptism took place on October 21st, 1832 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Henry's father was Henry Holt and his mother was Betty Greenhalgh. His paternal grandparents were William Holt and Mary Barrow. He had four brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Isaac, Albert, Nancy, Mary, Amelia and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 33 in November 1865 in Little Bolton. His burial was on November 5th, 1865 in Harwood.³⁴

  27 May 1855 Henry, a Carter of Breightmet, the son of Henry Holt a Grocer married Mary Lord Mather, spinster, daughter of Jeremy Mather, Farmer.
  
  In 1858, Henry and Mary had daughter Nancy baptised at Harwood. They were living at Roscoe Fold.
  
  In 1861, Henry and "Mary Lord" Holt (28 & 27) were farming 12 acres at Western Hill Farm House, Breightmet. They has Nancy (2) and William Henry (10 mo) and Martha Dyson (nurse girl, 10) boarding.
