Ann's father was Thomas Holt and her mother was Ann Isherwood.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Holt and Ann Meadowcroft. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James, John, Esther, George, Alice, Mary and Jane.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
