Jane was born in August 1892 in Washington. Jane's father was Joseph Hilton and her mother was Alice Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Jane (Ann) Smith. She had five brothers and a sister, named Jeffrey, Joseph, Reuben, Joseph, Herbert and Annie. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 73 on September 15th, 1965 in Seattle.¹
