Annie was born on March 7th, 1879 in Astley Bridge.¹

Annie's father was Abraham Heapy and her mother was Ellen Nightingale. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Heapy and Catherine Mather. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, William and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the four children.
