Betty was born in 1839 in Kearsley and her baptism took place on June 2nd, 1839 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1 2  Betty's father was Nathan Haslam and her mother was Jane (Jenny) Collinge.  Her maternal grandparents were <unknown> and Betty Collinge. She had three brothers and a sister, named Peter, David, Thomas and Mary.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 50 in February 1889 in Outwood.  She was buried on February 26th, 1889 in Ringley.3
