Peter's father was Nathan Haslam and his mother was Jane (Jenny) Collinge.  His maternal grandparents were <unknown> and Betty Collinge. He had two brothers and two sisters, named David, Thomas, Mary and Betty.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died as an infant at just 21 days old on November 26th, 1829 in Kearsley.  He was buried on November 29th, 1829 in Ringley.²
