Mary was born in 1886 in Bury.¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was William Henry Greenhalgh and her mother was Mary Ann Shaw. Her paternal grandparents were Squire Greenhalgh and Esther Isherwood. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named James, John, William, Joe, West, Frank, Thomas, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth and Nellie. She was the third youngest of the twelve children.
