James was born in 1866 in Bury.¹

Birth Notes

James' father was William Henry Greenhalgh and his mother was Mary Ann Shaw. His paternal grandparents were Squire Greenhalgh and Esther Isherwood. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Joe, West, Frank, Thomas, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Mary and Nellie. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died in 1866 in Bury.¹
