James Greenhalgh

James was born in October 1850 in Bolton.¹

James' father was Squire Greenhalgh and his mother was Esther Isherwood. His maternal grandparents were Benjamin (Bennett) Isherwood and Esther Mather. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William, Bennett, Peter, Elizabeth and Alice. He was the third oldest of the six children.
