Bessie was born in 1896 in Baltimore County. Bessie's father was Charles E Foster and her mother was Ida May Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Cowley Mather and Elizabeth Cooper. She had a brother and three sisters, named Howard, Emma, Edna and Mary. She was the oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 60 in 1956 in Hampden.General Notes
