Sue’s Nana was a very strong character. A lady from Glasgow. Sue remembers once asking her nana when her birthday was, and she said she could not remember. Sue said look on your birth certificate, but her reply was she never had one as her parents could not afford such things. Her gravestone does not record her date of birth.
Death Notes
Lily died when Sue Doxey was about 15-6, so about 1968-69.
Sue believes it was about August 1969 (mayby earlier) when Lilly died. The family were away on holiday in Bornemouth for 2 weeks, and her nana passed away on the Wednesday of the first week they were away. Poor Laurie and family only got the new from a neighbour on their return from Bornmouth after Lily had been buried.
Recorded death was Q2-1970, so must have died June or earlier.

Doxey family lived in Graver Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester.
A big detached house next to the main gates of the big park there named Brookdale Park. Sue's only memory of it was the Hallway. It was a bit like the Bronte Vicarage at Haworth, with rooms either side of the hall. It was demolished by the Council as it also had a big garden and the council wanted it for the park (or so they said).

According to Lil's Birthday Book, Lawrence Doxey was born 26/11/1914 Hulmes Road/Droylsden Rd, Newton Heath, Manchester. The birth was registered the following quater.
Sue has her father's birth certificate which confirms the DOB is 26th November, 1915, Newton Heath, Manchester. I assume this should be 1914!

Sue's father was born 26th November 1915, Newton Heath, Manchester. She has his birth Certicate as well as her Mother's. On checking through all of these she has noticed that in their upset, of her Father's passing the information, that the wrong birth year was put on the Death Certificate; it reads 1913 not 1915.
Sue's Father is not with his parents grave. He wanted to be cremated so his ashes are in Hollinwood Crem which is between Failsworth and Oldham, Lancashire.
