Isaac's father was Isaac Marsland Fidler and his mother was Margaret Logan. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Fidler and Ann Hill. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Joseph, William, John, Albert, Agnes and Lily. He was the second oldest of the eight known children. He died at the age of 42 in 1927 in Rochdale.²
