George was born in June 1857 in Wrexham.1  George's father was Thomas Eddowes and his mother was Ann Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph Eddowes and Abigail Blythen. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Edmund, Alfred, Arthur, Emma, Abigail, Elizabeth and Emy.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 3 in December 1860 in Wrexham.1
