Arthur's father was Thomas Eddowes and his mother was Ann Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph Eddowes and Abigail Blythen. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, William, George, Edmund, Alfred, Emma, Abigail, Elizabeth and Emy.  He was the second youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 6 in December 1871 in Wrexham.¹
