Alfred's father was Thomas Eddowes and his mother was Ann Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph Eddowes and Abigail Blythen. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, William, George, Edmund, Arthur, Emma, Abigail, Elizabeth and Emy.  He was the third youngest of the eleven children.  He died at 3 months old in March 1864 in Wrexham.¹
