William was born on May 17th, 1826 in Lindley and his baptism took place on October 22nd, 1826 in Salendine Nook Meeting House (Baptist).1  William's father was Beaumont Crosland and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Brook.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Crosland and Mary (Mercy) Beaumont. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joe, John, Alfred, Edward, Sarah and Mary.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 66 on February 25th, 1893 in Blackpool.2 




William's first family with Emma Schofield

‌William and Emma were married in a religious ceremony on September 20th, 1846 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).4   There are no children.


William's second family with Sarah Batley

‌William and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on December 17th, 1848 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).4   They had a son and two daughters, named Frederick, Jane and Lucy.  There are possibly more children.
