Thomas' father was William Crook and his mother was Alice Aldred.  His paternal grandparents were John Crook and Margaret Sharples. He had five brothers and a sister, named Daniel, William, Joshua, James, Samuel and Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died in March 1792 in Darcy Lever.  He was buried on March 8th, 1792 in Turton.¹
