Samuel was born in 1795 in Darcy Lever and his baptism took place on April 26th, 1795 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Birth Notes

Samuel's father was William Crook and his mother was Alice Aldred. His paternal grandparents were John Crook and Margaret Sharples. He had five brothers and a sister, named Daniel, William, Joshua, James, Thomas and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the seven children.
